Issues
As a City Council member representing District 5 citizens, this is what I want to get done:
1. Develop and work with small businesses
· Provide ways to support the development of our small businesses
· Provide training for small business owners so they can keep and expand their businesses
2. Develop policies and procedures that encourage property owners to keep up their property
· Help the mayor and administrators develop and enforce property owner rules and regulations
· Help identify funds and programs that will help property owners have safe and improved properties
3. Create jobs and training for young adults
· Create incentives for young people to live and make a living in Tuskegee
· Work with profit and non-profit organizations to develop training and certification programs
4. Develop a robust recreational program for children, adults, and seniors
· Improve and upgrade our parks, swimming pools, and support a strong city recreational department
· Develop special programs for Little League sports for girls and boys (baseball, football, soccer, and tennis).
5. Develop a strong tourist program to highlight the history of District 5 and downtown Tuskegee.
· Tourism means dollars; therefore, we have to have restaurants, entertainment, and things for people to buy.
· Collaborate with fellow City Council members and the mayor to develop the downtown area, meeting the needs of citizens, creating jobs, and promoting our local history.
